Motley Police, Morrison County Sheriff’s reports

Recent reports from the Motley Police Department (MPD) and the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) included the following:

Dec. 28 - The MPD assisted the Staples Police Dept. with a traffic stop and vehicle search at Hwy 10 and Sunset Loop in Motley.

Dec. 28 - The MPD received a call from the manager of an apartment in Motley that a tenant found an open window in their unit on Christmas Eve; and on Christmas Day, discovered that the security door near the laundry room was propped open. The apartment is located on Pine Ave. So. 

Dec. 23 - The MPD issued a speeding citation to Jeni Nigg, 38; and a citation to Dennis Taus, 74, who was traveling south in the northbound lane of Hwy 10.

Dec. 28 - The MCSO met a Staples police officer in Motley and transported Linnea Kasper back to the Morrison County Jail on an active warrant.

Dec. 27 - The MCSO received a call regarding a female that showed up at a residence at 33000 block of Hwy 10 in Motley. Responding deputy reported that the woman smelled strongly of alcohol and he gave her a ride to her house.

Dec. 26 - The MCSO responded to a report of a vehicle in the ditch near 10th Ave. and Hwy 10 in Cushing. The driver, Cecilia Orlikowski, stated the vehicle started to spin, causing her to go into the ditch. No apparent injuries or damage.

Dec. 25 - The MCSO received a report of a power line that had fallen on a tree near Dove Rd. and Dollars Dr. in Pillager, causing it to start on fire. Pillager Fire Dept. was paged and Crow Wing Power Co. notified.

Dec. 25 - The MCSO responded to a report of a vehicle that had gone into the ditch near Azure Rd. and Hwy 10 in Cushing, due to icy roads. 

Dec. 23 - The MCSO responded to a call regarding a trailer that had been parked near the 26000 block of Hwy 10, ten miles north of Cushing, for over a month. The deputy noticed that it was an older sled bed trailer and that the registration/serial numbers had been scratched off.
