Motley Police, Morrison County Sheriff’s reports

Recent reports from the Motley Police Department (MPD) and the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) included the following:

Jan. 4 - The MPD was parked in front of the fire hall and observed a male walking east on Cedar St. W. and then north on Hwy 10. The juvenile was not dressed for the weather (it was 10 degrees below zero), wearing only a sweatshirt, T-shirt, long pants and sneakers. He was carrying a small boom-box and was not wearing gloves.

Jan. 3 - The MPD received a call from the apartment manager at a building on Pine Ave. S. in Motley, reporting a smell of marijuana from one of the units.

Dec. 31 - The MPD assisted state patrol with a subject who had fled on foot during a traffic stop. The subject and driver were arrested for controlled substance crimes; and one of the subjects was transported to the Morrison County Jail.

Jan. 4 - The MCSO responded to a report of a snowmobile parked close to the white line on Bugle Rd. in Motley. It was towed and will be released with proof of ownership.

Jan. 3 - the MCSO arrested Brian Prozinski, 46, during a traffic stop at Superior Ave. in Randall.

Jan. 2 - The MCSO assisted the state patrol in helping tow a vehicle in the ditch on Hwy 10 near Cushing.

Jan. 2 - The MCSO assisted the state patrol with a vehicle rollover near Hwy 10 and 50th Ave. in Cushing. Deputy Al Yoder reported that once the Randall First Responders arrived at the scene, he cleared to go check on two other vehicles in the ditch.

Dec. 30 - The MCSO observed a vehicle traveling north on Hwy 10 and 330th St. in Motley. The vehicle did not have a plate light. Once the vehicle was stopped, the deputy observed signs of drug activity in it. The driver admitted there was marijuana in the vehicle as well as alcohol in the trunk. Upon searching the vehicle, deputies located a small amount of marijuana as well as a pipe inside the center console. Alcohol was located in the trunk. Driver admitted it belonged to them. Being the occupants were under the age of 21, the alcohol and marijuana were seized and disposed of. Driver was given a verbal warning.
