Motley Police, Morrison Cty Sheriff’s reports

epartment (MPD) and the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) included the following:

Sept. 14 - The MPD issued a speeding citation to Douglas Vandenberg, 52.

Sept. 13 - The MPD responded to a call from the manager of an apartment on Pine Ave. S. in Motley regarding a strong smell of marijuana from one of the apartments. 

Sept. 8 - The MPD assisted the MCSO with attempting to locate a missing female from a group home in Motley. A caller had reported seeing someone who closely resembles the missing female at a cabin in Motley. Responding officers found no one at the scene.

Sept. 9 - The MCSO assisted the Todd County Sheriff’s Office in locating Brian Prozinski at his residence on Bear Rd. in Cushing. He was arrested without incident.

Sept. 9 - The MCSO received a call from Cass County asking that Motley Fire & Rescue be paged for a two-vehicle head-on accident at 76th St. SW in Motley.

Sept. 7 - The MPD assisted the MCSO and Scandia Valley First Responders  at a two-vehicle crash on Azure Rd. and Fish Trap Lake Dr. in Scandia Valley Twp. According to the report, Michael Altrichter, driving a 2008 Silverado pickup, had stopped on the roadway to talk with a person in a vehicle in the other lane. Altrichter then backed up to look at something on the back of the other vehicle and crashed into a 2001 Buick LeSabre behind him, driven by Carol Smith. Smith said she observed both of the vehicles stopped in the roadway and had slowed way down prior to Altrichter’s pickup backing into her. Smith was complaining of chest and head pain and was transported by Gold Cross Ambulance to St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls.  

Sept. 7 - The MPD assisted the Motley Fire Department and Cass County Sheriff’s Office at a fire on 64th St. SW in Motley.

Sept. 3 - The MPD received a call regarding suspicious activity near the Eastwood Inn in Motley. Caller stated it appeared someone was attempting to break into a storage shed behind the motel. Responding law enforcement did not locate anyone but noticed footprints on a door to the building, it appeared that someone had tried to kick in the door.

Sept. 3 - The MPD issued speeding citations to Stephen Martinez, 25; Rachelle Williams, 48; Nicholas Miller, 57; Jeffrey Halbakken, 31.

Sept. 1 - The MPD responded to a report of a vehicle accident in the Parking lot of BRICKS in Motley. Caller stated that their pickup truck had been side-swiped sometime during the night by another vehicle, leaving dents and white paint transfer on the driver’s door.

Sept. 7 - The MCSO received a call from Cass County requesting mutual aid at a mobile home fire at 6833 64th St. SW in Motley. Motley Fire Dept. was paged.

Sept. 5 - The MCSO issued a speeding citation to Barbara Greeley, 60.

Sept. 1 - The MCSO responded to a report of assault at the intersection of Bugle Rd. and 330th St. in Motley. Officers arrived at the scene and found broken vehicle parts from the victim’s vehicle laying in the roadway. They proceeded to arrest Benjamin Charles Huff, 52; and Tena Lee Huff, 46.
