Area youth to ‘Trick or Treat’ for food shelf Oct. 30
The 18th annual community ‘Trick or Treating for Food Shelf’ will be Sunday, Oct. 30, from 3 - 5:30 p.m.
All local churches have been encouraged to be involved in this activity for our youth and for the Staples Area Food Shelf. This gathering of non-perishable items helps supply the food shelf in preparation of the holiday season.
This event is sponsored by all of the community churches; and all youth in grades six - 12 are encouraged to participate.
Volunteers can meet at Faith Lutheran Church, 430 12th St. NE, Staples, at 3 p.m. Supper will be served at the church when the trick or treating is finished.
Some youth will be riding on hay racks for the collecting. They will have adults with them and be identified as church youth.
Anyone who lives in the country, or who won’t be home or whose home is missed can bring items to Faith Lutheran Church. They will see that the food gets to the food shelf.
The churches and youth are appreciative of the community’s support of this project.
