Class offered: cooking safely for a crowd
Our food supply has changed and we all need to change the ways we handle food. Our food comes from all over the world and new, stronger bacteria and viruses are finding their way into our food. Also, handling food for large events is very different than cooking food for your family. It is important that people who prepare, handle or serve food know and practice safe food handling techniques.
This workshop, intended for church and community groups, will satisfy the requirement for a trained volunteer as stated in Minnesota Statues 157.22 as amended during the 2011 legislative session. Attendees will receive a certificate of attendance.
The presenter will be Carol Ann Burtness, University of Minnesota Extension Regional Educator at Brainerd Regional Office in Food Science/Food Safety (2003-2010 retired); Todd County Extension Educator (1975-2003)]
The class will be from 1-4:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in Eagle Bend.
