Cookbook author featured at Book Ends
Betsy Nelson, native Minnesotan and author of “Tasting Minnesota,” will be at The Uptown, 224 Jefferson St. S, Wadena on Saturday Dec. 10, and will give a book presentation at 11 a.m.
Her cookbook celebrates the bounty of Minnesota’s local foods with 100 recipes from the state’s best restaurants, cafes, diners and bistros.
The free monthly program, Book Ends connects writers with readers, the second Saturday of each month. Author are invited to talk about the writing process, discuss and read from their current publication and take questions from the audience.
Other authors participating include; Mary Casanova (Frozen and Ice-Out), William Kent Krueger (Ordinary Grace), Nathan Jorgenson (Waiting for White Horses), Lorna Landvik (Once In a Blue Moon Lodge), Kate DiCamillo (Raymie Nightengale), Candace Simar (Shelterbelts), and Will Weaver (The Survivors).
Sunday, Dec. 11, at 7 p.m., An Open Book will host Nimrod author Jerry Mevissen presenting “That Reminds Me” in the Community Rm, lower level of Jefferson Square. The Wadena County Historical Society is co-sponsoring this event.
