Student entrepreneurs
Students in the CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) program gathered recently for a breakfast with program investors and business hosts. After viewing a video about the origins of the programs and its growth to date, local students shared their observations about the businesses they had toured so far. Fourteen students from Staples-Motley and Wadena-Deer Creek school districts are enrolled. They meet from 7:30-9 a.m. every school day. This semester they have been meeting at Stern Rubber, Staples. Next semester they will meet at a Wadena business. They tour various businesses to hear about the challenges and the career opportunities. Each student will start their own business before the end of the school year and will showcase them at a business fair. Standing is Rachel Fisher, Staples, sharing her observations.
