Final summer concert

Local country music singer Katie Ziegler (above left) closed out the ‘Music in the Park’ series in Staples Aug. 14, singing to a crowd of nearly 300 people. Pictured with Katie is her 12-year-old cousin, McKenzie Wilds, who made her singing debut that evening, joining Katie for the last three songs of the show. The summer concerts were funded by the Staples Host Lions  and organized by the Staples Motley Area Arts Council, whose regular season begins Sept. 17, with bluegrass band, The High 48s.
