Cass County District 2 Commissioner race

The candidates vying for the Cass County District 2 County Commissioner seat, received a questionnaire from the Staples World. A response from incumbent Robert Kangas was received, but no response from John Warren, who was contacted by mail and email.

Robert Kangas

1. I’m a lifetime resident of Cass County, 30 years as a township supervisor, 16 years as a Cass County Commissioner 40 years of service on Co-op boards.

2. Cass County has no debt, we’ve been able to keep county taxes at a level below all neighboring counties. We still provide services that are important to the taxpayers of Cass County like; highways, sheriff protection, veteran services and other services that are mandated by state, and federal laws.

3. We have programs in place to help those in need, we have a housing shortage for any growth, that’s something that the private sector does. We are not a social country, state and federal funds are there to help.
