The eagle find its perch at Staples All Veterans Park
People gathered to watch as the eagle sculpture was lifted onto the rock at the Staples All Veterans Park on April 22. The Staples All Veterans and Community Park Association contracted with artist Jeff Kreitz (pictured above at center left reaching out for the eagle), to create the sculpture. At left, Kreitz is making sure the eagle fits securely into the rock before the straps are removed. The eagle is made of stainless steel and connected to the rock with steel rods drilled into the top. The rock was donated by Francis and MaryAnn Zetah of Motley. Part of the funding for the statue came from a grant from the Five Wings Arts Council. The next addition planned for the park will be a granite sign next to the eagle.
