National teacher award nominations

The Smart/Maher VFW National Citizenship Teacher Award recognized America’s best educators who instill a sense of national pride in their students.

Teachers who promote civic responsibility, flag etiquette and patriotism are prime candidates for this award.

Do you know a teacher who plans field trips to city hall so students can learn about local government. Do you know of one who organized community volunteer projects or one who invited veterans into their classrooms to discuss their military experiences?

If you know of such a teacher, honor them by nominating him or her for the award.
