R5 Summit provided professional development for local, regional leaders

National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA) hosted more than 50 regional education  and government leaders for the fourth annual R5 Summit on, Oct. 6.

School and community leaders from across the area listened to keynote speaker, David Horsager, share tactics for building trust within organizations and emphasizing the key role trust plays in building relationships with staff and constituents. Horsager is a business strategist and author of the national bestseller, “The Trust Edge.”

Breakout sessions on cooperative purchasing, leasing and presenting to an audience rounded out the educational opportunities for the day.

“We know the more opportunities we provide for professional growth for local leaders, the more capable our region becomes,” says NJPA Director of Regional Programs Paul Drange.  “When we invest time and resources in local community leaders and give them new tools for addressing their daily work and managing relationships, we all benefit.”

The goal of the one-day conference is to serve Region 5 communities by providing professional development and educational opportunities.
