Wadena County Public Health remodeling project let out for bids

At the Nov. 1 Wadena County Board meeting, commissioners voted to proceed with the bidding letting process for the remodeling part of the Public Health Building. Vercon, the county’s construction manager, is supervising the project.

The remodel is to improve building security, enclose work areas for needed privacy and to reduce foot traffic through the building. The lobby will get new doors in the vestibule area, new windows and new insulation throughout the building as well.

Public Health Director Cindy Pederson told commissioners she hoped the project would be completed yet this year. The estimated cost of the project is $175,000. Approximately one half of the cost will be paid through grants and the rest from the public health department’s reserve funds.

Bids are due Nov. 15 and will be reviewed at the Nov. 16 county board meeting.
