Tom Crawford of Staples takes a short break to pose for a photo before heading back out on the trails. Crawford has been preparing for a ‘Walk Across England’ trip with his granddaughters, walking upwards of 55 miles a week in recent months. During their two-week trip, the Crawford clan will hike nearly 200 miles, following in the footsteps of Alfred Wainwright, the late English writer of guidebooks to walks from coast to coast in Britain. Their itinerary shows at least two days with 14-mile hikes planned.
