Large boulders and smaller rocks now line the riverbank on the southwest side of the Motley Public Cemetery, a recent project championed by the cemetery board to help combat erosion that threatened the gravestones. In addition, the project included building up the road in the cemetery with class five gravel, reconstructing the fence and  planting grass seed.
