Law enforcement reports

Recent reports from the Motley Police Department (MPD) and the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) included the following:

Nov. 21 - The MPD issued a speeding citation to James Dixon, 56. 

Nov. 20 - The MPD responded to a report of a resident who had locked herself out of her house. Assisted her with the phone number of a locksmith.

Nov. 19 - The MPD responded to a call regarding a female walking westbound on the Hwy 210 bridge who appeared to be cold and shivering. Officer located her on the north side of the bridge, on the ground with injuries to her head. The officer requested an ambulance as he was unsure whether the woman had been hit by a car or not. State patrol assisted.

Nov. 19 - The MPD issued a citation to Michael Kasten, 20, for prohibited lights (his headlights were projecting green in color) and for a muffler violation.

Nov. 19 - The MPD responded to a welfare check of a female at the Eastwood Motel in Motley; and proceeded to arrest Kelly King, 31, for giving a peace officer a false name and date of birth. King also had two felony warrants out of St. Louis County.

Nov. 18 - The MPD assisted a driver who was stuck in the snow in front of the Countryside Restaurant in Motley.

Nov. 18 - The MPD responded to a report of a strong smell of marijuana at a unit in the Country Terrace Apartments, Motley. Responding officer subsequently arrested Nickolas Graffunder, 35, for having a small amount of marijuana.

Nov. 19 - The MCSO received a call from Cass County, reporting a power pole and tree on fire at Hwy 210 and 65th Ave. SW in Motley. Motley Fire Dept. was paged.

Nov. 18 - The MCSO received a call from a resident at Bear Rd. in Cushing reporting his mailbox had been hit by a tan colored car the previous afternoon.

Nov. 17 - The MCSO received a call from a resident at 260th St. in Cushing who reported her power pole was sparking and on fire. Randall Fire paged and the electric company notified.
