Morrison County Sheriff’s Office reports

Recent reports from the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) included the following:

June 29 - The MCSO receive an anonymous call regarding four wheelers that have been driving on property owned by Minnesota Power on Azalea Rd. in Motley. Caller stated they are very loud and a nuisance.

June 29 - The MCSO received a report of a bear that had been hit along Dove Road in Cushing Twp. The bear was wounded and still alive. Dispatch contacted the DNR, who said they would handle the situation.

June 27 - The MCSO received a call from Cass County Sheriff’s Office requesting assistance with a vehicle rollover north of Motley on Hwy 64. Deputy Al Yoder served as the ground contact for Air Care 4 and set up a landing zone. Prior to their landing, it was reported that the driver of the vehicle was deceased, so the air care was cancelled.

June 27 - The MCSO received a call regarding a female that had been assaulted in the parking lot of Lincoln Gas and Bait in Cushing. Officers responded and the victim was transported to St. Gabriel’s Hospital in Little Falls for treatment. The suspect, 29-year-old Tony Funk, was located driving south on Hwy 10  by Deputy Jamie Luberts  and arrested for felony domestic assault. A marijuana pipe was located inside Funk’s vehicle.

June 26 - The MCSO received a call from Eldon Becker reporting that someone broke into a mobile home on property that he is a caretaker for at Flinstone Dr. and Lake Camille Dr. in Cushing. Total value of the missing property is $400. The responding officer reported that the property had a lot of junk surrounding it and the mobile home was not safe to be in.

June 23 - The MCSO received a report from Joseph Mrazek, Jr. and Mark Frisk that a sewer truck has been dumping sewage into a field on Aztec Rd. in Motley for the past seven years. Both parties live near that area and said that sometimes the smell is so bad that they can’t go outside. They wanted it on file. The responding officer stopped by the area and reported that it does smell like sewage.

June 23 - The MCSO received a call from Michael Lahr, supervisor for Scandia Valley Twp., regarding  a fish house sitting on Fir Ln. just north of 330th St. in Motley. Law enforcement responded and located it in the roadway. They spoke with the owner and told him he needed to remove it because it was a traffic hazard. It was removed.
