Motley Police, Morrison County Sheriff’s reports
Recent reports from the Motley Police Department (MPD) and the Morrison County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) included the following:
Sept. 21 - The MPD stopped a vehicle at the intersection of Hwys 10 and 210 in Motley for not having a rear plate. The driver was from Minot, N.D. The driver stated he had been arrested in Ramsey County on a Clay County warrant and sat there for 14 days. The vehicle had been impounded, he said, and the plate had fallen off on the road prior to his arrest.
Sept. 19 - The MPD received a call regarding a strong smell of marijuana at the Country Terrace Apartments in Motley.
Sept. 17 - MCSO Deputy Al Yoder responded to a report of a vehicle that had driven into the front entrance of the Countryside Restaurant in Motley. The driver, Richard Fox, said he did not really know what happened; he had tried to brake but it was too late.
Sept. 16 - MPD Officer Jason Borash arrested Jonelle Barker and transported her to the Morrison County Jail. According to the report, officer Borash located Barker at her residence on Pine Ave. S. in Motley and served an active Wadena County warrant on her.
Sept. 21 - The MCSO received a call from Michelle Jeziorski, who reported hitting a deer on Bugle Road by Ridge Rd in Motley. She did not want the deer. Deputy Yoder arrived at the scene and issued Amber Hollermann a permit for the deer.
Sept. 18 - The MCSO received a call from Douglas Laddusaw who reported a theft at his hunting land on 330th St. in Motley. Laddusaw said that someone broke into his camper and stole several items, including three sunflower heaters, space heater, electric heater, microwave, gun stand and dishes.
Sept. 15 - The MCSO received a call regarding a deer that had been hit by a vehicle on Dove. Rd. in Cushing. The deer was still alive. The responding officer dispatched the deer; and a passerby, James Turnbaugh, stated he would like a permit for the deer.
