Two-vehicle crash in Scandia Valley Twp

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office responded to a two vehicle crash with injuries, at approximately 10:47 a.m. on Jan. 13, near the intersection of 330th St. in Scandia Valley Township, south of Pillager. 

According to the sheriff’s office, Shawn Scheerle, 52, of Cushing, was traveling south on Dove Road. Scheerle stated that he swerved to avoid a deer in the roadway, lost control of his vehicle and collided with an oncoming vehicle driven by Joann Beto, 63, or Motley. Beto’s passenger was identified as Judith Bellamy, 66, of Motley. Bellamy suffered minor injuries and was transported by ambulance to Lakewood Health System Hospital in Staples.

The Morrison County Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Scandia Valley First Response Team and Gold Cross Ambulance.
