Veterans Day program planned in Motley
The public is invited to attend a Veterans Day program at Motley-Staples Middle School on Friday, Nov. 11, at 9:30 a.m.
Tri-County American Legion Post #124 will provide the color guard and program; and there will be student participation as well, including readings, essays, tributes and artwork.
This year’s program will feature the presentation, “One Hundred Years of Military Uniforms.”
Bob Follis, a member of the Motley American Legion, has collected dozens of uniforms representing all five branches of the United States military. Several of these uniforms will be on display; and in addition, students will model some of them.
Follis said he has presented this program at other area schools and that it has been well received. “It’s a great history lesson,” he said.
