Russell Kleinschmidt, rural Staples, owns and operates Kleinschmidt Farms, a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) farm. He and his wife, Jessica, sell over 60 varieties of garden produce, all started from seed. Kleinschmidt mixes his own potting soil and plants the seeds in 20-row seed flats kept under lights in his basement.
