All families and community members are invited.

A variety of equipment and vehicles will be on display including fire trucks, line truck, school bus, construction equipment, police emergency vehicle, heavy equipment vehicles, farm equipment and an ambulance.

The following businesses and organizations will be represented at this year’s event: Central Lakes College (CLC) Heavy Equipment program, CLC  Agriculture program, City of Staples, Staples Fire Dept, Staples Police Det, Staples-Motley School District, The Vintage golf course, National Guard and Lakewood Health System.

Admission is free. Hot dogs and chips will be available for sale. All proceeds will be used by the SMECC to support early childhood programs in the Staples-Motley area.

Sarah Steinkopf, kindergarten teacher at Staples-Motley Elementary and member of the SMECC group, noted that a number of organizations work together to make this event possible. “We thank each person for their time and bringing their vehicles and equipment for families to see. It’s great to see so many people and organizations working closely together for a fun filled family event,” Steinkopf said.

The mission of the SMECC is to ensure all children in the Staples Motley area have a healthy start and are well-prepared to start their school journey.
