Flag retirement ceremony

There will be a flag retiring ceremony on Wednesday, Nov. 2, at the Huck Holst home, 28943 Todd Line Rd., Staples (2 mi. west of the Evergreen Hill Cemetery) at 5:30 p.m. with the American Legion Post 124, Motley posting the colors.

The U.S. Flag Code reads, “The flag, when it is in such condition that it is no longer a fitting emblem for display, should be destroyed in a dignified way, preferably by burning.”
