Mabel Swart
Mabel Swart, 96, of Staples, passed away May 16, 2017 at the Lakewood Health System Care Center in Staples.
Services were held May 20 at the Staples Church of Christ, with Pastor Barry Klein officiating.
Interment was at Evergreen Cemetery in Browerville.
Arrangements were with the Brenny Funeral Chapel, Staples.
Mabel was born August 27, 1920 in Wadena County, to Fredrick and Tracy (Schwartz) Beurge. She married Virgil Swart on December 19, 1937. They lived and farmed near Turtle Lake. Mable was a member of the Staples Church of Christ and was baptized on December 26, 1960. She taught Sunday school, earned her GED from Staples High School, proudly graduated on January 27, 1970. Mabel enjoyed gardening, canning, cooking, knitting and spending time with family and friends.
Mabel is survived by two sons, Murrel Swart of Brooklyn Park, Jerome Swart of Coon Rapids; three daughters, Sheila Spangler of Milford, MI, Ramona Kastanek of Fridley and Cynthia McCabe of Esko; 10 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; three infant brothers, Edward, Charles and Paul; one brother, Walter; four sisters, Lucille, Lila, Hazel, Dorothy and one grandson, Thomas Swart.
