CLC search started to replace Hietala
At a summer faculty and staff in-service day, Central Lakes College Vice President of Academic and Student Affairs David Hietala announced he will be leaving the college effective Sept. 1.
At that in-service day, Hietala said, “I thank you from the bottom of my heart, so very deeply, for the opportunity to work with you… I’m excited for the college. I’m excited for President Charlier. I’m excited for the future.”
Hietala will be assisting the college during fall semester in meeting its accreditation requirements for the Higher Learning Commission.
CLC will begin a national search this fall to permanently fill the VP of Academic and Student Affairs position. In the transition, Dr. Doug Keran will serve as interim on a part-time basis as of Sept 1.
Keran taught in CLC’s Natural Resources program for many years. He also served as the college’s first Vice President of Academic Affairs from 1995-2002 and again, in an interim capacity, in 2007-08.
