Riewer finds new team in Czech Republic
Jordan Riewer is playing for a new team, but also found an old teammate.
Riewer signed with the BK NH Ostrava professional basketball team in the Czech Republic. Last year Riewer played professionally in Germany.
At Ostrava, Riewer joins former Minnesota State University Moorhead teammate Isaac Sevlie.
In his first game with Ostrava, Riewer scored 17 points, hitting three of five three point shots and four of seven inside the line.
“It’s a very good league,” Riewer said in a press release from MSUM. “It has 12 teams, and right now they have played 10 games, so I’ll be joining them in the heart of their season. I think I’ll fit in well. It’s a good opportunity.”
Riewer played for the Oettinger Rockets in Germany in 2015-16. He has been back in the Midwest since May.
“It’s been quite an experience,” Riewer said of playing overseas. “I’m excited to get back to playing again.”
He is also looking forward to playing with Sevlie in Europe.
“I get to play with Isaac again which I am excited about,” Riewer said. “They run a lot of pick and roll, and Isaac and I have done that for 3-4 years.”
