New LED lighting in the Centennial Auditorium, was on display as the Staples-Motley School Board facilities tour learned that the school has a plan to eventually convert to all LED lights, which are more energy-efficient. Building and Grounds Supervisor Leroy Peterson, left, shows the new parking lot at the Motley-Staples Middle School, part of the Staples-Motley School Board facility tour held Sept. 28. Peterson said the traffic flow has greatly improved with the addition of an outlet lane as part of the project. The tour also included new classrooms updated for fourth and fifth grade students. Peterson reported on an ongoing project of replacing homemade cabinets with wheeled or wall storage. A project on the horizon is installing energy efficient windows at the Motley school building.
