Betty Farber
Betty Farber, 93, of Motley passed away October 7, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday, October 14, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Staples.
Visitation will take place from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, October 13 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples and one hour prior to services at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Interment will be at Motley Public Cemetery.
Betty was born March 31, 1930 to James and Johanna Fornshell at University Hospital, Minneapolis. She was baptized into the Lutheran faith on September 14, 1930. When Betty was a young child she moved to Pillager and attended school there. She worked at resorts for a period of time and did waitress work for many years. She worked in Aldrich for Frank and Christine Roth, which later became known as Ted and Gen’s. Betty also worked at Skelly Café in Staples and spent 20 years working at Mr. Ed’s Restaurant in Motley.
Betty married Charlie Farber on June 8, 1946. She was a homemaker and mom of six children. She enjoyed her 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She loved to play cards, bingo, lottery tickets and going to the casino. Betty will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children Shirley (Farber) (Mike) Longbella, Terry Farber, Brad and Jody (Mueller) Farber, Jeff and Tammy (Nordell) Farber, Kimm Farber (Jim Neelan), Lorree (Farber) (Troy) Shereck; 11 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren.
Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles; five sisters, Leonara Pietz, Leona Barrett, Ida Farber, Viola Corner and Alta Loucks; six brothers, Curt, Leonard, Bert, Raymond, Darold and Charles Fornshell; and daughter-in-law, Bonnie (Beers) Farber.
Arrangements are by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel of Baxter.
