Charles Tangen

Charles Tangen, 78, of Foley, passed away February 27, 2024 at The Gardens at Foley Nursing Center.  

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, March 16, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Foley with Rev. Beverly Brock officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Burial with full Military Honors will be held at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery.    

Charles Alvin Tangen was born November 11, 1945 to Alvin and Loraine (Flora) Tangen in Bremerton, Washington. He graduated from Motley High School and later joined the U.S. Marines. He lived and farmed in Motley for 70 years as well as operating a foster home for numerous children along with his wife. The couple moved to Foley in 2022. He enjoyed hunting and farming. He was a member of the Motley American Legion.

Charles is survived by his wife, Lois of Foley; one son, Charlie (Krista) of Foley; one daughter, Misty (Martin) Harris of Little Falls; two step-sons, Brent (Sue) Dybevik of Virginia and Bradley Dybevik of Anoka, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren; one brother, Alvin; two sisters, Margaret Rosenberg and Becky Gullixson and special fur-grand, Gracie, who adored “her” Chuck.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sandy Kludt.

Service with Dignity arrangments provided by the Foley Funeral Home.
