Robert Hanson

Robert John Hanson, 58, of St. Anthony, passed away peacefully on April 28, 2024.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 on Thursday, May 9, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 835 2nd Avenue NW, New Brighton. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church.

Robert was born October 25, 1965 to Louis and Eleanor Hanson in Staples.  He attended Mounds View Schools and graduated from Irondale High School in 1984, going on to earn a business degree from the Minnesota School of Business. Before his retirement, Robert worked for Hennepin County Social Services.  

Robert loved all animals, but especially his six cats.  He enjoyed traveling and collecting coins. 

Robert is survived by his mother, Eleanor Hanson;  one sister, Carol Hanson; two brothers, Scott Hanson and Mark (Carol) Hanson; two nieces, Kate Schumacher and Kristin (Matt) Zelazny; one nephew, Zachary (Kimberly Hughes) Wefel and two great-nephews, Jack Schumacher and Rowan Zelazny. 

Robert is preceded in death by his father, Louis Hanson.
