Philip Jasmer
Philip (Phil) Jasmer, 74, of Aldrich, passed away peacefully August 17, 2026 at Lakewood Hospital in Staples.
Memorial services were held September 14, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Staples.
Philip Jasmer was born to Ellsworth and Bernitta (Snakenberg) Jasmer on September 14, 1951, in Bertha. Philip graduated from Staples High School with the class of 1969. He spent his working years employed by Burlington Northern Railroad in a number of capacities.
Philip was married to Wilma Olson, and that union was blessed with four children: Mark, Adam, Kevin and Nicole. In 1996, Philip met and married Debbra Wahner. Together, the couple shared 30 years together.
Phil enjoyed a wide range of simple pleasures and familiar routines including farming, riding motorcycle, spending time “running around with the Amish,” watching television, especially Law and Order, going to auctions, playing cards and eating lemon meringue pie. He looked forward to breakfast at “The Spot” on Saturday and Sunday mornings with Deb and friends. His dog, Cooper, was an important part of his daily life. Together the two often shared a bowl of ice cream.
Phil’s life was marked by the places and pastimes that mattered to him most, from his work on the railroad to the hobbies and gatherings he enjoyed over the years. Those who knew him will remember the ordinary moments that made up a life distinctly his own.
Philip will be remembered by his wife of 30 years, Deb; two sons, Adam (Mary) Jasmer and Kevin (Brenda) Jasmer; one daughter, Nicole (Josh) Jasmer; nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, MaryBeth (Bill) Schmidt, Gail (Gordy) Alex and Judy Jasmer; one brother-in-law, Bill Nokes; many nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Cindy Olson and one sister, Gloria Nokes.
May his memory be held with gratitude by all who knew him.
Arrangements were by Karvonen Funeral & Cremation Service of Wadena, www.karvonenfuneralhome.com to leave memorials and condolences on Philip’s Tribute Wall.
