Three Staples-Motley High School students in Lisa Kajer’s culinary basics course passed the ServSafe exam given by the National Restaurant Association. Pictured from left are Del Eckman, Jonah Johnson, Krystal Yoder and SMHS Principal Mike Schmidt.
ServSafe training and certification is recognized by more federal, state and local jurisdictions than any other food safety certification. Many Minnesota restaurants require this food safety and sanitation certification as a basic credential for their management staff. The cost of this exam was free of charge to the students as the Central Lakes Perkins Consortium provided the funds. (Submitted photo)
