Donald Carry

Donald Carry, 85 of Cushing died August 5, 2018 at St. Otto’s Care Center in Little Falls.

A memorial service was held August 10 at the Church of Christ in Staples. Burial was at Evergreen Cemetery in Browerville. Arrangements were with the Iten Funeral Home, Browerville.

Don was born July 29, 1933 to Arthur and Olga (Petersen) Carry on the family farm in Turtle Creek Township. He attended country school at District 29 through the eighth grade, then worked on the farm with his family. Don married Florence Tepley in Motley on October 29, 1952 and in 1957 they moved to the Twin Cities where Don worked at Federal Stampings as a machinist for 18 years. He also worked at an Our Own Hardware for several years before they moved back to the farm in 1982. Don resumed farming and took a part time job as a bailiff for almost nine years, retiring in 2010. He and Florence enjoyed spending winters in Mission, Texas. Don enjoyed hunting and restoring old tractors.

He is survived by his wife; one daughter, Kathy (John) Seifert; one son, Allen (Debra) Carry; granddaughter, Rebecca (Tony) Sculati; two great-granddaughters, Sophia and Keira and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold, in infancy and Howard.
