Alberta Dague
Alberta Henrietta “Bertie” Dague, 90 of Staples (formerly of Bertha), passed away September 23, 2020, at the Lakewood Care Center in Staples after a two month battle with pancreatic cancer.
A celebration of life will be held Oct. 11, at 2:30 p.m. at the Staples Alliance Church. A gathering of family and friends will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the church. Bertie was born Dec. 2, 1929 in Merced, CA to Albert H. and K. Margaret (Beyer) Penner. She married Donald Dague Sept. 5, 1949 in Oakland, CA. Together they raised three children in Bertha. The family moved to Staples in 2005.
Bertie is survived by and will be deeply missed by one son, Larry (Debbie) Dague of Wadena; one daughter, Carolyn (Ron) Kaylor of Coon Rapids; daughter-in-law, Nancy Dague of Galesburg, KS; four grandchildren, Stacy (Dwight) Parker of Lignum, VA, Chris (Cari) Dague of Glen Rose, TX, Haven (Paul) Habermann of Coon Rapids and Beau Kaylor of Minneapolis; eight great-grandchildren, Allie, Christian and Caleb Parker, Madison, Morgan and Makenzie Dague, Nicole and Elsie Kaylor; one sister, Eleanor (Joe) Dague of CA; a host of brothers and sisters-in-law and many loving nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Don (09/2018); one son, Don (07/2020); parents and one sister, Lois (Doug) Horton.
She will also be greatly missed by the many, many people covered by prayer throughout the years by this “prayer warrior”: family, missionaries, pastors, neighbors, friends, Sunday School students and the list goes on; it is so far reaching.
Memorials are suggested to the Gideons International.
