Barbara Cline

Barbara “Barb” Cline, 72, of Staples, died June 11, 2018, after bravely battling leukemia for two years and three months. She was surrounded by her family and passed peacefully.

A Memorial Service will be held June 23, 2018, at 11 a.m. at the Motley Free Methodist Church,  33 Wellwood St., Motley. Visitation will be held June 22 from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m.  at the Staples Church of Christ, 27343 490th St., Staples.

Internment will be held at a later date at the Camp Ripley National Cemetery. 

Barb was born August 26, 1945 in Brainerd to Delores (Brown) and Roy Larson. She was raised in Motley with her five sisters and two brothers. She married David Cline on December 12, 1966 in Mound.  

Barb spent her working years in the Customized Training Field, retiring as a Customized Training Representative for Central Lakes College in 2013. After retirement, Barb worked for three years as the Director of the Staples Motley Area Chamber of Commerce. She was a gifted singer and loved all things musical. She participated in the Staples Area Women’s Chorus for 37 years, serving on the Chorus Executive Board for many of those years. Barb’s passion was bringing music to as many people as possible.  She was very involved in the “Her Voice, Her Song” events in Staples; singing at nursing homes, care centers, funerals and weddings for countless years. She was deeply devoted to her family and often said her favorite times were spent with them.

Barb is survived by her husband; one daughter, Jennifer (James) Mulholland of Breezy Point; two sons, Jonathan (Katie) Cline and Jason (Lindsey) Cline, both of Aitkin; four sisters, Beverly Zabrowski, Sandy (Gary) Winkle, Patsy Johnson and Debora Larson; brother, Daryl Larson; three step-sisters, Beverly Hahn, Barbara Dahl, Bonnie (Wayne) Witkop; step-brother, Jerry Pribbenow; 14 nephews, 10 nieces and eight grandchildren.  

Barb was preceeded in death by her parents, Roy Larson and Delores Pribbenow; step-father, Arthur Pribbenow; sister, Sharon; brother, Ronald; father-in-law, Roy; mother-in-law, Dorothy; five brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law and three nephews.
