Barbara Mertens

Barbara Jean Mertens, age 76, of Staples, passed away unexpectedly on November 27, 2022, at her home.

Funeral services were held December 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church, in Staples.  Interment was at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples.

 Barb was born on April 22, 1946, in Little Falls to Lawrence and Anna (Lajesse) Colombe.

Barb worked as a receptionist at the Staples Veterinary Clinic for 33 years. She loved spending time with her granddaughter. She was a very neat and tidy woman and a friend to everyone.

Barb will be forever missed by her children, one daughter, Teresa (Dennis) Winzenburg and one son, Mike Corner; one granddaughter, Amber Winzenburg; and one sister, Shirley Colombe.

Barb is preceded in death by her parents; first husband, Joseph Corner; second husband, Robert Mertens; significant other, Larry Delaney.
