Candice Holmberg

Candice “Candi” Holmberg, 68, of Motley,  passed away July 21, 2018, surrounded by her family and friends. 

Services will be held Thursday, July 26, at 4 p.m. at the Motley Free Methodist Church with Pastor Jim Johnson officiating. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday, prior to services at the church.

Arrangements are with the Brenny Funeral Chapel in Staples.

Candi was born November 12, 1949, in St. Paul Park, to Robert and Celestine (Pesek) Johnsen. She attended school in Minneapolis. Candi married Larry Holmberg on May 22, 1971, in Sisseton, SD. She worked at Maddens Resort for 12 years and Trident Seafoods in Motley for over 20 years. Candi enjoyed flower gardens, traveling, camping, shopping and spending time with her family and friends.

Candi is survived by her husband, of 47 years; one daughter, Dawn Holmberg, of Pillager, and two sons, Darin Holmberg of Staples and Tim (Christina) Holmberg of Motley; five grandchildren, Taiya, Dalton, Emma, Alexander and Lilly; one brother, Rod Johnsen; and many nieces and nephews. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Linda; one brother, Billy; and two nephews.
