Carol Hoelz
Carol May (Mudgett) Hoelz, 82, of Brainerd passed away April 21, 2019, at Edgewood Vista in Brainerd.
Funeral services were held April 25 at First Baptist Church in Baxter with Pastor David Grotzke officiating.
Burial was at Wildwood Cemetery, Pillager.
Carol was born October 23, 1936 in Pillager, to Harvey and Edythe (Delamater) Mudgett. She graduated from Pillager High School in 1954. Carol worked at Potlatch Paper Mill in Brainerd during the 1960s. She married Murray Hoelz on August 31, 1968. They made their home on Perch Lake in Baxter.
Carol loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed working in the yard and tending flowers. She and Murray maintained a large garden with flourishing apple trees and loved to share with family and friends. Carol was an excellent cook and could make the most basic meals taste extraordinary. She loved to make crafts and crochet. She was an incredible lady who loved all of us so deeply and had the most tender heart.
Carol is survived by one daughter, Karen (Darin) Young of Brainerd; one son, Dave Hoelz of Pillager; three grandchildren, Cameron, Griffin and Ella Young; two sisters, Helen Smith and Beverley Mudgett; four brothers, Harvey Mudgett, Frank (Sherry) Mudgett, Stanley (Mary) Mudgett, Raymond (Debbie) Mudgett; sisters-in-law, Linda Mudgett and Phyllis Hoelz and brothers-in-law, Bud Husman and Joel Hoelz.
Carol is preceded in death by her parents; husband; two brothers, Ben Mudgett and Donnie Mudgett; one sister, Dorothy Husman; brothers-in-law, Dick Smith, Duane Westling and Carl Orjala; sisters-in-law, Lee Mudgett, Sandy Mudgett, Lois Westling and Artis Orjala.
Carol will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Arrangements were with Nelson-Doran Funeral Home, Brainerd.
