Cheri Belling
Cheri Belling, 75, of Motley, gained her angel wings on May 1, 2021.
Services will be held May 7, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel in Staples. Visitation will take place one hour prior to services.
Interment will be at Evergreen Hill Cemetery in Staples.
Cheri was born to Jack and Rayma (Nelson) Thorn on July 11, 1945 in Staples. With her family she lived in Seward, Alaska and later moved to Morro Bay, California and graduated from high school there. In 1966, she met Dick Belling and they were married in 1967 in Staples. Cheri worked as an LPN for many years in Springfield and she also assisted Dick in his dental practice.
Dick and Cheri spent many wonderful years in Springfield raising their family. Summers were spent at their cabin on Lake Shamineau. Wherever she was, Cheri loved having family and friends visit and always made them feel welcome. Upon retirement, Dick and Cheri made Lake Shamineau their home.
Cheri enjoyed golf, playing cards - especially poker and cribbage, reading (book club), bingo, playing dice, spending time on the pontoon and wine club with friends. She also enjoyed spending her winters in Palm Springs and Morro Bay. Her family and friends never had empty stomachs or cold feet, as she was always knitting slippers for everyone as well as cooking and baking.
She loved and fully embraced being a daughter, wife, sister, mom, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was such a light in this world. A generous and genuinely beautiful soul gone way too soon. Her spirit and joy for life will be greatly missed.
She is survived by Dick, her husband of 54 years; two sons Craig (Dori) and Todd (Karie); one daughter Kristin; three grandchildren, Jason, Kallie (Adam) and Christopher; one great- grandchild, Laynie; two sisters, Joy (Bill) Agnew and Betty Nichols; one brother, Tom (Sandra) Thorn and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Arrangements are by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
