Christopher DeGeest

Christopher Allen DeGeest, 53, died unexpectedly December 28, 2017, in St. Cloud.

Memorial services will be held Friday, Jan. 5, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Staples. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church. 

Interment will be at the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery near Little Falls.

Arrangements are with the Taylor Funeral Home, Staples.

Chris was born December 26,1964, in Cambridge to Donald and Joan (Terzynski) DeGeest. He was a 1983 graduate of Motley High School and enlisted in the U.S. Army following graduation. He was a member of the National Guard  for over 30 years. He served one year in Iraq in 2009 with the Red Bulls. Chris worked at Camp Ripley and Boys Port Group Home in Brainerd. He married Cory Sue Holmes on May 21,1988. 

Chris is survived by his wife; three daughters, Cassandra DeGeest of Brainerd, Caliena DeGeest of Columbia Heights and Cathleen (Ken) Stack of Brainerd; two grandchildren; parents; six brothers,  Gregory, Douglas (Elaine), Jeffrey (Teresa), Timothy and Michael (Kelly) and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Wells and Theresa Wentworth and Joseph and Louise DeGeest.
