Clifford Goodwater

Clifford “Cliff” L. Goodwater, 91, formerly of Motley, passed away November 9, 2018.

Funeral services will be held Thurs., Nov. 15 at at 12 p.m., Gearhart Funeral Home, 11275 Foley Blvd NW, Coon Rapids with pastor  Paul Koehler officiating. Visitation is one hour prior to services.

Interment will be at Morningside Memorial Gardens, Coon Rapids.

Cliff was born January 29, 1927 to Richard and Pearl (Christian) Goodwater in Bain Township. He served in the Philippines in WWII as an Army sergeant. He was an active member of the Motley community, and devoted much of his time to St. John’s Lutheran Church. He was also involved with Meals on Wheels, the Honor Guard, Motley Lions Club, VFW Post #6316 and American Legion Post #0124. 

Cliff is survived one son, Richard; one daughter, Kathy Johnson; five grandchildren, Chris Manske, Chad (Kim) Johnson, Shelley (Jim) Albright, Kimberly (Rob) Pedersen, Stacey (Colin) Fechter; 10 great-grandchildren, Derek, Amber, Addison, Ethan, Alysha, Mark, Joy, Payton, Cameron, Logan; one sister, Ione; one brother, Charles; son-in-law, Gary Johnson and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lydia “Sis”; parents; one daughter, Lynn Johnson; six brothers, Floyd, Frank, Paul, Roy, Skelly, Walter and three sisters, Florence, Iva, Molly.
