Daniel Davis

Daniel Davis, 72, of rural Motley, passed away June 16, 2017 at his home, surrounded by his family.

A gathering to celebrate his life will be held at the Davis residence in Staples/Motley, on Saturday, June 24, beginning at 3 p.m.

Arrangements were by Brenny Funeral Chapel, Staples.

Daniel Lee Davis was born April 26, 1945 in Muncie, IN, to MariLou (Lucas) and Milford Davis. He enlisted in the Army after high school and served honorably for three years. He married Ruth A. Bauer in Las Vegas, NV on February 26, 1966. The couple enjoyed 51 years together. They lived in the Brainerd area; and in the Staples/Motley area for the past 20 years. Dan worked as a salesman at Nisswa Dock. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching football and spending time with his family.

Dan is survived by his wife; three daughters, Becky Davis, of Brainerd, Angie (Dale) Guderjohn, of Brainerd and Maggie Borg (Dustin Honsey), of Baxter; one son, Danny (Kari) Davis, of Staples; 16 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Diane Davis, of Sun City, AZ and Dawn Davis, of Mariposa, CA; and one brother, Donnie Davis, of San Bernadino, CA. 

He was preceded in death by his parents.
