David Peterson
David (Dave) Neal Peterson, 70, died September 2, 2016. Dave is a devoted Christian, loving father and follower of God’s word and is peacefully with his Lord and Savior.
A Celebration of Life was held at the San Tan Mountain View Funeral Home on September 4, followed by graveside services at Globe Cemetery in Globe, Arizona.
Dave was born August 30 1946 to Howard and Carol (Bolles) Peterson in Staples. His childhood was spent in Staples enjoying both Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts and developing his passion for designing and building various projects. He graduated from SHS in 1964 and the Staples Vocational School Tool Design Program. He worked a short time as a designer in the Twin Cities and was drafted into the Army Corp. of Engineers. He completed his service activity in Arizona in 1968 doing topographical surveying for the federal government. He enjoyed camping with his family and participating in scouting with his sons. Dave started a mining and millwright career in the Globe-Miami AZ area eventually moving to Mesa, AZ. In the valley he worked as a millwright/equipment manager in the steel, baking and pharmaceutical industries. During those times he pursued his hobbies designing and building specialty vehicles, custom motorcycles and gun-smithing.
Dave is a devoted Christian, Loving Father, and follower of God’s word and is peacefully with his Lord and Savior. He is survived by one son, Ryan, San Tan Valley, AZ; one brother, Marvin Peterson, Crosslake; one nephew Eric C. Peterson and family, Nisswa; special friend, Jeanette Renick, Mesa; nieces, nephews, many friends and his Beagle dog, Susie.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Chad and one step-son, Chantry Gorman.
In lieu of flowers the family prefers memorials for “Wounded Warrior Project” or charity of choice can be sent to Peterson Family, 2136 W Gila Butte Dr., Queen Creek, AZ 85142.
