Dawn Beers

Dawn Beers-Schroeder, 68, of Rochester, died peacefully surrounded by family and friends December 25, 2016 at Seasons Hospice in Rochester.

A Memorial Mass will be held Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Rochester.  Visitation will be held Friday, Jan. 13, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the Macken Funeral Home in Rochester and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Dawn was born March 4, 1948, in Wadena to Harry and Gladys (Hunter) Beers. She grew up  in Grand Rapids, and graduated from the University of Minnesota, Duluth and the College of St Catherine, with degrees in speech pathology and nursing. She spent her career as an RN in the cardiac critical care unit and the emergency department at St. Mary’s Hospital, in Rochester. Dawn was active throughout her life in many social, environmental, athletics and nursing organizations. She was an avid distance runner and enjoyed outdoor sports. 

She is survived by one son, Jason Schroeder and one daughter, Marissa Hedman.  

She was preceded in death by her parents.
