Debra Martin

Debra Dawn Martin, 67, of Wadena, passed away October 11, 2023, at Lakewood Health System Care Center, under the care of Staples Hospice.

Per Debby’s request, a private family gathering was held.

Debby was the fourth of five children born to Henry and Dorthy Quiring. She graduated from Staples High School in 1974. She was blessed with four children: Jeremy, Stephanie, Heather and Melissa. On August 12, 1995, she was united in marriage to Marlin Martin.

Debby held a variety of occupations throughout the years, which included employment at Pamida, AmericInn, Lakewood Health System, Homecrest Industries  and was the founder of Now & Forever Wedding Gallery.

Lover of the outdoors, bird-watcher, avid gardener, plant and flower extraordinaire. Debby could often be found soaking up some sunshine with her beloved dogs, working in the dirt, tending to her many plants and flowers, along with watching the birds that feasted on feeders she had in the front yard. She enjoyed discussing which birds stopped by with her oldest grandson, Lance.

Debby loved music and could almost always be found jammin’ out to the oldies or some classic country. She rarely missed the opportunity for a cold drink, good music and shared laughs with friends and family. She was lovingly referred to as “Loser #3” at Vern-Fest each year and rarely missed the opportunity to attend a street dance with her siblings.

Debby loved to travel and was always up for an adventure, no matter how big or small. She preferred flying to driving, but either way, it often included stopping at a gas station somewhere so she could grab a cup of coffee, a bear claw and a gas station hotdog.

Perhaps her greatest enjoyment in life was being “Gramsy” to eight grandchildren. She proudly attended every sporting event, band concert, holiday program and dance recital that she could.

She will forever be missed by her loving husband, Marlin; one son, Jeremy (Glenda) Judd; three daughters, Stephanie Anderson, Heather Martin and Melissa (Bryce) Anderson; eight grandchildren, Jordan Judd, Jaqualine (Scottie) Petersen, Joslynn Judd, Lance Anderson, Owen Anderson, Aija Anderson, Brielle Anderson and Jereth Judd; siblings, Rodney (Delores) Quiring, Sharon (Tom) Graphenteen and Dar (Bev) Quiring; mother-in-law, Doris Martin; along with nieces, nephews, friends and her favorite four-legged children, Sophie, Cocoa and Lilly.

Debby is preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ronald Quiring and father-in-law, Merlin Martin.
