Derek Meide

Derek Meide, 35, of Staples, passed away March 18, 2023, peacefully at home. 

A gathering of friends and family will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 1 at the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples with services at 2 p.m.

Derek was born June 22, 1987, in Staples to David Meide and Diane Miller. He attended Staples High School and worked at UPS for several years. Derek loved to fish, play golf, frisbee golf, computers, playing guitar, drawing and reading. 

Derek is survived by his parents; one brother, Alex Jares; one sister, Sabrina (James) Lenk; one niece, McKenzie Fletcher and step siblings. 

He is preceded in death by grandparents, Jay and Billie Miller, Calvin Meide, Ruth (Denny) Wold; two uncles, Craig Miller and Mark Meide and one aunt, Shirley Huennekens.

Arrangements are by Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Staples.
