Don Farber
Don F. Farber, 85, of Pillager, passed away unexpectedly October 10, 2023, surrounded by his family and loved ones at LakewoodHealth System Hospital, Staples.
A Celebration of Life will be held Wednesday, October 18, at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Staples. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the services at the church.
Don will be entered into rest at the Wildwood Cemetery in Pillager.
Don was born January 24, 1938 to Ray and Magdalene Farber in Becker Township. He was born and raised on the family farm and graduated from Staples High School. He worked as an auto glass installer for many years with Modern Auto Glass and Harmon Auto Glass. He also worked many years at Grand View Lodge in the housekeeping and laundry area.
Don was married to Darlene Fornshell, the love of his life, for 45 years. They lived most of their lives in the Pillager area. Don served on the Pillager Volunteer Fire Department and the Pillager Fair Board for many years. He was a lifetime Pillager High School Huskies fan. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, hosting card parties, gabbing on the phone and having people around. Don will be remembered as a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great- grandfather.
He will be dearly missed by one daughter, Barb (Hector) Merced; one son, Mark; four grandchildren, Ryan, Tyrone (Sara), McKenzie (Jon), Brittnie (Kurt); 12 great-grandchildren, Payge, Isaac, Austin, Hayden, Keyonna, Arianna, Hunter, Sawyer, Kenneth, Finley, Gracelynn and Emberlyn; two sisters, Yvonne (Larry) Perry and Pat (Wendell) Gregg and one brother, Mike (Michelle) Farber.
He is preceded by death by his wife, Darlene; parents; one daughter, Leann, and three brothers, Bill, Ken and Roger.
Arrangements are by the Brenny Family Funeral Chapel, Baxter.
