Eileen Roth

Eileen Rae Roth,73,  passed away February 3, 2023, at Serenity Living Solutions in Sebeka following a struggle with pulmonary issues. 

Memorial services were held February 20  at the Wadena Alliance Church

Eileen was born in Milford, Nebraska on October 29, 1931, to Clarence and Ada Stutzman. 

Following her marriage to Maurice Roth on September 18, 1949 they farmed near Dorchester, NE where they were blessed with three sons, Steven, Brian and Clark. In 1959, the family moved north of Staples and began their farming career. 

Being a partner in this farming endeavor and being a homemaker was important to Eileen. She wanted to be assured that she would be with her children, grandchildren, all relatives and friends in Heaven someday. She helped guide her grandchildren in many ways, including personally creating books on tape, teaching them to make cutout gingerbread men, raising chickens, garden produce, flowers, making excellent raised donuts, potato salad and strawberry jam. 

She served as president of the Women’s Auxiliary at Leader Mennonite Church and later at Thomastown Covenant Church, put in many years teaching Sunday School, volunteering at Bible School and leading youth groups. She was a quilter, canner, a prayer warrior, historian and keeper of family memories. Eileen collected angels and was an angel to her family and friends. 

Surviving are Steve and Donna Roth and their family of Wadena, Brian and Nancy Roth and their family of Verndale and Clark and Theresa Roth and their family of Braddock, N.D. This includes eight grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren; siblings and spouses, Willis and Kathy Stutzman, of Milford, NE, Sharon Stutzman of Lincoln, NE and Jerry and Mary Stutzman of Peoria, AZ.; one sister-in-law, Mary Roth, Milford, NE; one brother-in-law, Ken and Vada Roth, of Dorchester, NE; many other relatives and friends who will miss her gentle spirit, but they can rest assured that she’s now in the caring arms of her Savior. 

Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, Maurice Roth on February 8, 2022; her parents; parents-in-law, Amos and Phoebe Roth; one  brother, Lowell Stutzman; one sister, Delores and husband, Enos Nisly; brothers-in-law, Richard Roth; Norman Roth and wife, Carley Roth; sister-in-law, Erma and Enos Nisly, Geraldine and husband, Richard Roth; and one grandson, Trent Roth.
