Eugene Goble

Eugene Goble, 70, of Ortley, SD, formerly of Staples,  died October 29, 2016 in Webster, SD.

Funeral services were held Nov. 4, 2016 at the Ortley Free Lutheran Church, with Rev. Robert Grebel officiating.

Internment was held Nov. 5 at Evergreen Hill Cemetery, Staples.

Arrangements were with the Coester Funeral Home, Webster, SD.

Eugene was born on Sept. 2, 1946 in Staples, to Elmer and Marie (Bostrom) Goble. He graduated from Staples High School in 1964. Following high school he  worked as a truck driver, driving for several different companies over the years. Gene married Carol Hoffman on June 21, 1969 in Shoreview. They resided in Staples from 1969 until moving to Ortley in 1999. He was a member of Ortley Free Lutheran Church and a life member of Ooida. He enjoyed spending time with his family and trucking.

He is survived by his wife; three sons, David (Susie) MN, Daniel of Montana, Darren of Ortley; two daughters, Dawn Goble of Staples and Darlene (Cory) Robinson of Webster; 12 grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Campbell and Arlene Goble, both of Staples.

Gene was preceded in death by his parents and one son, Duane Isaac.
