Evelyn Doucette

Evelyn E. Doucette, 94, died September 18, 2016 at her home in Wisconsin Rapids, surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 22 at the Nekoosa United Church of Christ with Rev. Timothy Miller officiating.

Arrangements were by Feldner/Ritchay Funeral Home in Nekoosa, WI.

Evelyn was born July 3, 1922 in Bertha, to Otto and Alma (Horn) Arndt. She graduated from Staples High School in 1940. She married Larry Doucette, Sr. on August 5, 1949 at the Congregational Church in Staples. She returned to Staples in 1960. Throughout her life she held various jobs including a nurse’s aide at Staples Hospital, bookkeeper for Dr. Reichelderfer in Staples and a cashier at Snyder Drugs in Anoka. She lived in Wisconsin with her daughter and son-in-law. She enjoyed visiting with family and being around the farm animals. Evelyn was a member of the Nekoosa United Church of Christ, the Order of Eastern Star and Edgewater Haven Auxiliary. She enjoyed making floral arrangements.

Evelyn is survived by four daughters, Virginia (Douglas) Suarino of Wisconsin Rapids, Cynthia (Jon) Zahn of Marshfield, Cheryl (Dennis) Erickson of Nekoosa, and Jan (Todd) Ketter of Wisconsin Rapids; two sons, Larry (Linda) Doucette of Staples, MN and William Doucette, Sr. of Port Edwards; one daughter in-law, Constance Doucette of Green Bay; 20 grandchildren; 35 great-grandchildren and two sisters, Norma (Ralph) Kulink of Salem, OR and Marianne (Edward) Hoeykens of Blaine, MN.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; one son, Gary Doucette; one great-grandson; one brother, Delbert Arndt; one sister, Idamarie and one brother-in-law, Ed Kolpack.
